Seal of Solomon is one of the oldest symbols in the world. The earliest known example is a stone carving from the middle east dated at over 6000 years old.
It's also called the Star of David, although neither King David nor King Solomon are known to have actually used it as their crest. The Symbol also has a place in western magic, where it is often inscribed inside circles. The magician would draw a circle, usually 9 feet in diameter, and make two intersecting triangles inside it for the Seal of Solomon. The circle was for power, and the six pointed star was for protection. The seal of Solomon set in a circle, like it is in this pendant, was said to let a person use their power in safety. Amulets like this one are said to protect their owners.
